 THE TIERS OF EDUCATION

Layer Cake: These courses are taught by established educators who have taught before!

Wedding Cake: These courses are taught by expert educators who have been teaching for over five years.

THE DIFFERENT FLAVORS

Vanilla: Classes that are targeted towards newbies in the community or refresher courses for individuals who have been in the community for some time (Comparable to 100-level courses)

Chocolate: Intermediate courses targeted towards those with more advanced skill sets (Comparable to 200-level/300-level courses)

Red Velvet: Classes recommended for those who have previous knowledge and practice on the subject manner and have previously taken "prerequisite" courses (think 400-level courses)

learn about Different Types of C.a.k.e

C.A.K.E. (Standard Education)

C.A.K.E. After Dark (Play Party Education)

C.A.K.E. was started as a program to promote educators in the community and give up-and-coming educators a platform to teach.

Our main focus is:

NEW TEACHERS: to give them a chance to teach while we take care of the venue, promotion, and set-up. We will also give positive feedback after classes for improvement, provide information for becoming an established educator in the community, and offer resources throughout the community.

ESTABLISHED EDUCATORS: to give them a chance to teach in areas/communities they normally don't get a chance to interact with and/or try teaching a new class to gauge if tweaks are needed.

C.A.K.E. After Dark (Play Party Education)

C.A.K.E. After Dark (Play Party Education)

C.A.K.E. After Dark will be in a joint effort with our play parties with Sparkelly. We are going to have our C.A.K.E. educators teach a class that is relevant to kink activities (i.e. wax play, flogging, scene negotiation, etc.). Afterwards, the educator will be present to assist with any questions or assistance you will need if you want to try out your new skills for our play party directly after.

C.A.K.E. Bytes (Virtual Education)

C.A.K.E. Bytes will be in a joint effort with our How the Fuck Are You? Virtual Munch. Offering our C.A.K.E. classes online in this format allows educators to reach a wider audience, as we often have people from across the country (sometimes even internationally), and it provides education to those who might not typically get a chance to attend classes due to where they live or their schedules.

** This is unfortunately is NOT a C.A.K.E. class that offers cake for attendees and staff to enjoy due to it being online **

C.A.K.E. Mix-Ins (Crafty Education)

C.A.K.E. Layered Learning (Expo Education)

Previously C.A.K.E. Leftovers

C.A.K.E. Mix-ins will be in a joint effort with our Kinks & Crafts through Sparkelly. We will have C.A.K.E. educators who will teach classes that are involved and interactive. These C.A.K.E. classes will have our Kinks & Crafts vibes as you learn how to create something, such as sex toys, fetish wear, furniture, and so much more. Because these classes include the crafting elements, these courses do cost money for the materials used. If you want to attend and take notes while doing your own crafts, you can, depending on the space of the venue we are using.

C.A.K.E. Layered Learning (Expo Education)

C.A.K.E. Layered Learning (Expo Education)

C.A.K.E. Layered Learning (Expo Education)

C.A.K.E. Layered Learning is our education provided at large-scale events, such as our Annual Kink Expo (AKE) or other conventions or retreats. This form of education is usually offered over several days (often a weekend) and with larger volume class attendance.

** This is unfortunately is NOT always going to be a C.A.K.E. class that offers cake for attendees and staff to enjoy due to the sheer size of the event and ensuring everyone gets a chance to enjoy some **

Elite Slice (Masterclass Education)

C.A.K.E. Layered Learning (Expo Education)

C.A.K.E. Layered Learning (Expo Education)

C.A.K.E. Elite Slice is the EM equivalent of a Masterclass. These educators are experts in their fields/type of play who will be teaching dynamic courses that are more niche and not often available. These would be Red Velvet Wedding Cake classes (see above under "Tiers" and "Flavours")

Under the Apron Interviews

Under the Apron—their stories, their spice, and the sweet stuff they serve our community 🍰

As part of our C.A.K.E. (Consent and Kink Education) initiative, we launched a new spotlight series to highlight the incredible educators who help make our community richer, safer, and more empowered. Whether they’re a Cupcake just starting out or a multi-tier Wedding Cake with years of experience, we believe their voice deserves to be celebrated.

To help us shine a light on the sweet work they're doing, we love to feature them in a short interview! These questions are designed to be reflective, insightful, and a little fun—just like the classes they bring to life.

Our Goal

EM is dedicated to making education accessible to everyone; we also know everyone in the community is at different levels. While our goal is to give new educators the ability to start establishing themselves, we also seek to give seasoned educators a chance to try new classes for the first time or to reach an audience they might not usually have.
